About Garth Lenz
- Garth’s photography tells stories of environmental issues, threatened wilderness regions, devastation, and the impacts on indigenous peoples. His work has appeared in many of the world’s leading publications, including Time Magazine, The Guardian, The New York Times, International Wildlife, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Canadian Geographic, and GEO
- He has been invited to give many international presentations on environmental and indigenous rights issues. I have addressed the European Parliament, Canadian Senate, major corporations and business leaders, and given public slideshow tours throughout Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
- His recent images from the boreal region of Canada have helped lead to significant victories and large new protected areas in the Northwest Territories, Quebec, and Ontario. In 2008, his work from the boreal and the Alberta Tar Sands received major awards at the Prix de la Photographie Paris, the International Photography Awards, and from the Centre For Fine Art Photography.
- Garth Lenz is a Fellow of the International League Of Conservation Photographers. One of only sixty photographers worldwide to receive this honor.
